Biography

Breed was founded in 2004 by guitarist and riff-maker Damage Karlsen, vocalist Maurice Adams and drummer Espen Pedersen. Mr. Damage introduced his work to the other members and they quickly named their sound ‘groove metal’.

The album went on to receive 4 and 5 out of 6 throughout Europe. Breed crushed their way into the Norwegian metal scene with ferocious eardrum attacks and kickass live shows. Starting out in small clubs they soon moved on to play bigger festivals alongside bands like Turbonegro, DimmuBorgir and Satyricon. The relentless riffage from Mr. Damage supported by Max Morbids pounding bass and Maurice Adams gut wrenching vocals, forced people to bang their heads and feel the groove. Elbowing their way through the growing pile of metal bands their distinct sound and attention-demanding live shows, saw Breed opening for Killswitch Engage at a sold-out show in Rockefeller Music Hall – Oslo.

Even though the band having only one release in Europe and the Nordic Countries, fans that started to follow Breed came from all over Europe and the U.S. Breed, moving very fast, parted ways with various members for various reasons. Breed finally recruited Tommy Core on the drums to join their ranks as they started writing music for the second album. This album was recorded early 2010 with Asgeir Mickelson (Borknagar, Testament, Spiral Architect) and Jock Loveband (Satyricon, Savoy, Hellbillies) producing the album.
